The primary purpose of the Center is to increase awareness and promote poison safety throughout a 24-county area in eastern New York State including the Hudson Valley, Capital District and North Country regions. This is accomplished through the presentation of poison prevention programs, attendance at health fairs and provision of training sessions for childcare professionals. The website of the HVPEC is packed with information on poisons, evironmental dangers, safety tips and games for kids.
